Hi Ed,

I did not need a high power video card. I don't worry about shorts or the wood getting too hot. The power supply has a metal case around it. The top wood has a sheet metal covering more for RF shielding (at least that was the thought).

An antique home theater case would be a nice application for wood and size probably isn't as much of an issue so you can get the cooling right.

I see there is no video card(not even low profile)was that because you were trying to keep hieght down or you dont need that much speed?Do you worry about the burn factor of the wood and possible shorts that could occur? I am looking to build one myself for hometheatre but it needs to match my wife's antique wooden furniture kick.Unless I can find a really tiny HTPC case that is smaller than one of those aerocool type cubes.I thought about trying to build an antique type chest with hinged tope and iron hardware etc but need more time to investigate. All in all your case looks great.Cheers!

the cooling seems inadequate. one outtake fan, and not even a sufficient vent for intake? fan must be struggling to pull air through the cracks in the case.

That looks great. I thought about building a wooden computer case years ago but never got around to doing anything about it. I'm glad to see someone did. Now maybe I'll need to get off my butt and make one.
